Clever, witty, intelligent songwriting combined with passionate vocals and an energetic yet humbling stage presence make Halifax singer/songwriter Mike Bochoff an emerging artist that needs to be both seen and heard. His songs have the unique ability to make you dance, sing along, snap your fingers, clap your hands and stomp your feet while at the same time provoking thought and emotion. He is a modern-day folk storyteller through and through.
Since 2007, he has released two independent albums, toured across Canada multiple times, performed ECMA, Music Nova Scotia and Canadian Music Week showcases and has shared the stage with Dave Hause and Northcote, as well as Maritime favorites Carmen Townsend, Acres and Acres, Billie Dre & the Poor Boys, The Town Heroes & many more. His music video for the single, “Everything Burns” received several film festival awards for director Aram Kouyoumdjian in both Canada and the US including Best Music Video, and was featured on MusiquePlus as well as MuchMusic’s The Wedge.
Mathew Burdreski (drums) and Stephen Hare (keyboard) joined the band back in January and after more than four years since the release of 2009’s “Horror Culture” , Mike re-entered the studio in the Summer of 2013 armed with a slew of new songs to record his highly anticipated third release entitled, “Start ’em Young” due out March 29, 2014
